On the 11 Feb 06, at around 7.30pm we start our journey to Ipoh after gather at Greenlane McD. When we reach Juru, I have to change car before continue our journey.
It was about 11pm when we reach Ipoh to overnite at Roger’s house. Right after that we went for supper….White Chicken Bean Sprout Rice “Nga Choi Kai”…^_^ . Actually there are more then just chicken we ordered, we had chicken leg, fish ball soup, super size bean sprout and of course the white chicken.
After supper, nobody seem to be able to sleep as most of us are full..so we play some card game. Guess wht we play?? Luisa fav card game…anytime, anywhere..hahaha.
Well finally after midnite, everyone settle down and sleep….heard the next morning there was an orchestra playing in the middle of the nite…hahahaha. Just imagine 15 ppl sleeping in a double storey house. Most of us slept in the living room,…look like ikan kering sedang jemur…
:-D
At abt 7.00am the next morning, everyone was up and getting ready for the exciting activities that we are going to have. First time, we manage to get to Gopeng early and on time. We met the guide, Zach and Amy (a guy) before going into the village. In order for all of us to go to the abseil site, we had to take a ride on a lorry….pretty awesome ride.
When we reach the ground of the hill, all of us need to prepare and get ready for the abseil. Before we can do that, we got to hike up the hill….it was tiring even before I manage to abseil….whew!!
It was amazing, no vocab in the dictionary can express my experience and feeling coming down the waterfall (try not to get near to the water). The water was freezing and it is cold to the bone. Not to forget it was slippery as I slip and swing to the left before manage to reach the ground….but it was fantastic.

After everyone comes down from the waterfall, we had a short lunch. Nasi bungkus…chicken, friend egg and vege. It taste so good cause all of us was so hungry and anything just tasted delicious! Then we travel down to the water rafting starting point, where we have confident test. Testing the water…..just lie on your back and of course with a life jacket floating down the river following the current. I hit my butt...ouch!
Soon after that we start our crusade to conquer the 7km journey of Sg. Kampar!! hehe!
We were split into 3 boats, 2 small and 1 big raft. If was a rough ride down the river but tiring as my raft keep on stoping b’cos of the rocks. The water was swallow and the raft was big, it still have space for more ppl even thou there are 8 of us. 2 guides are in the raft, Zach and Hilmi; there was Winson, Jason, Bernard, Raymond, Chong and I..:-)
Well, half way thru I fell into the river as the raft was stuck to the rock, move to front, back, left , right and too right and I fell pulling along Raymond with me…wahahaha!!!. Bernard and Chong fell too, but not sure how they do it……:-P
The other 2 small raft, 1 of it was fill with all girls rower with Luisa, Min Min, Angelene and Winson’s sister (sorry forget the name). No doubt, the scream of the girls can be heard in the distance….hahahaha…..I can hear them shouting and screaming but never seem to see the raft arriving…..ahahaha :-D but I’m sure they had a superb ride and an awesome guide Amy. In the other raft was Gabriel, Choy Mei, Lay and Soo Beng…..at one point they had to abandon raft…..hahaha…. as it was stuck to the rock and difficult to move the raft. Cool!! They survive….
Finally we reach the end of the journey…..so give yourself a pat on the back! Hip, hip Horray!! Unbelievable…it would be more challenging during Dec….that is wht the guide said..hehe. Want to do it again???…I mean the water rafting…^_^
At the end of the day, finally reaching Penang…we make a detour to Batu Kawan for seafood. A toast to all to an amazing start of New Year and may more great things happen in this year 2006!!!!
